Zinc is an essential trace element; it only occurs in very small amounts in the body. But it plays a crucial role in many metabolic processes because it is a component of numerous enzymes. Since our body cannot produce zinc itself, we have to get it through food.

Different forms of zinc
Different zinc salts (especially sulfate, oxide, carbonate, pidolate) as well as salts of inorganic acids (zinc gluconate, citrate, lactate, acetate) and compounds with amino acids (zinc histidine, aspartate) are used in zinc supplements. And each form of zinc has a different effect on our body due to its connection partner.
